What's The Fear Really About?
A frustrated agent, a dry pipeline, and the one question underneath every avoided call — is the fear stopping the action, or the reason you finally take it?

Sat down with an agent this week who's frustrated. Pipeline's dry. She knows it. I know it.
We went through the motions — the calls she knows she should be making, the asks she keeps finding reasons to skip. Standard territory. Then I stopped fixing and asked the real question.
What's the fear underneath not making that call?
She sat with it. Then she said the true thing: it wasn't the call. It was everything the call would change — the schedule, the comfort, the version of her week that's felt safe for months.
That's not a confidence problem. That's an adjustment problem wearing a confidence costume.
Here's the only question I want you sitting with this week. Not five plays. Not a checklist. Just this:
Is the fear stopping you from the action — or is the fear the reason you finally take it?
I'm not exempt from this one. I get hundreds of pings a day — calls, texts, DMs, comments, emails. I'm not first to respond to all of it. I don't pretend to be. But I've learned the difference between being unavailable and being intentional. The line between them is whether I still have the hard conversation, even a day late — or whether the discomfort of having it makes the decision for me.
Your next paycheck is behind a handful of conversations you haven't had yet. Not because you can't have them. Because some part of you got comfortable not having them.
Name the one — client, agent, partner, whoever it is — you're avoiding. Then ask yourself, straight: is it the conversation you're scared of — or the life it might change?
If it's the second one, you already know what to do.
Building with you,
Austin
P.S. — She made the call. I don't know how it went yet. That's not really the point. Go Take Action!
